Ecole Communautaire de Grand Riviere is a tiny, one-room school in a remote mountain village in the Sud-Est district of Haiti.

Because education is the foundation of self-determination, VK Haiti worked with local community leaders to provide funds to re-open the dilapidated facility that also sustained significant additional damage from the devastation of Hurricane Matthew.

We needed your help to keep the doors open, and you responded. A total of $5,744 provided literacy and other critical learning skills for 70 students. The amount — just $82 per student — paid the salaries of 4 teachers, providing economic stability for their families.

Investing in Ecole Communautaire de Grand Riviere provided access to opportunity for these children and their families now and into the future, as they are better equipped to realize their unique potential and economic independence.
